Junior Astronomer Challenge

1. If you are up in space looking down on the north pole of the earth, does the earth rotate on its axis clockwise or counter-clockwise?

3. If you are up in space looking down on the north pole of the earth, does the moon rotate on its axis clockwise or counter-clockwise.

4. If you are up in space looking down on the north pole of the earth, does the Earth orbit the sun clockwise or counter-clockwise?

5. Is the Sun farther away than the moon or closer than the moon or at the same distance.

6. If you convinced yourself that the Sun is farther could it be just a little bit farther or must it be a whole lot farther.

7. Which of the "lights" in the sky are planets and which are stars?

8. After you've decided which are planets, which are inner planets and which are outer planets?

9. After you've decided which are inner planets and which are outer planets, in which direction do they each orbit the sun (when viewed from far above the Earth's north pole) clockwise or counter-clockwise?
